Hug & Nest





A recall has been announced for the Boppy® Hug & Nest (see above pictures) sold in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and other countries (not USA and Canada) between December 2020 and September 2021.  


This comes at the direction of Boppy's parent company, the Artsana Group, following the decision by The Boppy Company in America to conduct a voluntary recall of a similar product, the Newborn Lounger- in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission


The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) have been advised.



If safety warnings were not followed (including warnings against using the product for infant sleep or without adult supervision), infants could suffocate. This includes situations in which infants can suffocate if they roll, move, or are placed on the product in a position that obstructs breathing, or roll off the product onto an external surface, such as an adult pillow or soft bedding, that obstructs breathing.


Artsana is unaware of any known incidents associated with the safe and correct use of thee Boppy® Hug & Nest. The Boppy® Hug & Nest has been sold for awake and supervised use only. To avoid exposure to the described hazard, customers who purchased a Boppy® Hug & Nest between the previously mentioned dates should immediately stop using the product. Customers can contact BPM Australia on (02) 9457 0000 via email at or their place of purchase for assistance and a refund.


Parents and caregivers are reminded that the best place for a baby to sleep is on their back, on a firm, flat surface in a secure environment. Never add blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or other items to an infant's sleeping environment. For more information on safe sleep practices, visit
